Lincoln High School
1908 Dramatics
1907-08 Dramatics

A Lincoln High School Dramatic Club was organized early in March with the following officers: President, Mary Losee; Vice-President, James Hutchins; Secretary, Elverta Jones; Treasurer, Inez Haller. Forty-six students were enrolled at the initial meeting.

Owing to the small number of Seniors attending the Lincoln this vear it was thought advisable to organize the club with the help of the Juniors, and the majority of the members were from the '09 class. Besides making a larger and better club this gave the Juniors an opportunity to get preliminary training for next year—something no dramatic club has yet had in Seattle High School history.

The club was handicapped by getting a late start, but made up for this disadvantage by enthusiasm and hard work.

No play has been presented at the time of writing, but "The Garroters" will be presented before the end of the semester.

A few pleasant programs have been given. One of the best of these was a dialogue entitled "A Pair of Lunatics," by Beatrice Austin and Mr. Porter. Both parts were rendered especially well, and it was but a forerunner of what was yet to come.

The club extends its cordial thanks to Mr. Saunderson, who gave his time and experience to the work.
