2019 Scholarship Winners

Scholarship Winner Ellen Applewhite graduated from Raisbeck Aviation High School in Tukwila, WA. She was accepted at University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA. Her plans are to major in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Psychology. Ellen is the daughter of Linda Breuer ('81).
Scholarship Winner Brett Bacon is graduating from Mead High School in Spokane, WA. He has been accepted to Washington State University in Pullman, WA. He would like to become a Special Education teacher upon graduation. Brett is the grandson of Ken Bacon ('59).
Scholarship Winner Jordan Bills is graduating from Stadium High School in Tacoma, WA. She has been accepted to Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ. Her plans are to major in Psychology and pursue a career in counseling or social work. Jordan is the granddaughter of Pearl Hanson Bjodstrup ('48).
Scholarship Winner Bridget Duffy is graduating from Edmonds-Woodway High School in Edmonds, WA. She will be attending Washington State University in Pullman, WA. Entering as a freshman, she plans to major in Physics. She is the granddaughter of Dorothy Fairchild Lindstrom ('54).
Scholarship Winner Matthew Erickson is graduating from Cashmere High School in Cashmere, WA. Matthew will be attending Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. He will be pursuing a degree in Audio-Engineering with the hopes of becoming a Music Producer. Matthew is the great-grandson of Phyllis Feroe Brown ('37).
Scholarship Winner Mack Howard is graduating from Shelton High School in Shelton, WA. In the fall, he will be attending the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. He will be pursuing a degree in Aeronautical Engineering with the hope of working as an Aerospace Engineer. Mack is the grandson of Jeanette Marie Roth Wyciskala ('65).
Scholarship Winner Dottie Johnson is graduating from Cedar Park Christian School in Bothell, WA. She will be entering the DigiPen Institute of Technology in Redmond, WA. She hopes to learn the necessary skills for working in the gaming industry. Her dream is to see her name in the credits of an A-line game. Dottie is the daughter of Rebecca Braun Johnson ('76).
Scholarship Winner Taylor Jones is graduating from Nooksack High School in Nooksack, WA. She will be attending Whitworth University in Spokane, WA. Taylor chose Whitworth to pursue in depth the values of her faith; her major is undeclared. She is the granddaughter of Marsha Reardon Huffsmith ('65).
Scholarship Winner Mackenzie Kinsey will be graduating from Lake Stevens High School in Lake Stevens, WA. Mackenzie will be attending Washington State University in Pullman, WA. She hopes to double major in Criminal Justice and French. Her goal is to work at The International Court of Justice at the Hague. Mackenzie is the granddaughter of Jenifer Johnson Hozail ('76).
Scholarship Winner Emma Knight is graduating from Columbia High School in Nampa, Idaho. In the fall, she will be attending Utah State University in Logan, Utah. She plans are to double major in Bio-Veterinary and Equine Science plus Management. Emma is the granddaughter of Judy Lee McGladrey Knight ('59).
Scholarship Winner Benjamin Manning will be graduating from Cedar Park Christian School in Bothell, WA. He will be attending Biola University in La Mirada, CA. Benjamin has no clear plans but is interested in Criminal Justice and Psychology. He is the grandson of Wayne Porter ('65).
Scholarship Winner Joshua Nelson is graduating from Edmonds-Woodway High School in Edmonds, WA. He will be attending The University of Idaho in Moscow, ID. Joshua is interested in Virtual Technology and Design. His goal is a career as a 3D Animator. He is the grandson of Douglas Nelson ('54).
Scholarship Winner Mia Nahele Rosa will be graduating for Thomas Jefferson High School in Auburn, WA. Mia will be attending the University of Hawaii-Hilo in the fall. She has been offered a position on their nationally ranked tennis team. Mia will be majoring in Biology with plans of entering Nursing School. She is the granddaughter of Robin Graeme Buchan ('53).
Scholarship Winner Jonah Roth will be graduating from Milwaukee High School of the Arts in Milwaukee, WI. In the fall, he will be attending Bard College in Annandale-On-Hudson, NY. Jonah has chosen Bard due to its top academic program. He wants to pursue a career in Speech-Language Pathology, working with elders. Jonah is also interested in all aspects of music. Jonah is the grandson of Janet Anderson Sorby ('60).
Scholarship Winner Colin James Sams is graduating from Bishop Blanchet High School in Seattle, WA. He will be attending Gonzaga University Spokane, WA. Collin chose Gonzaga for its faith-based curriculum. He will be studying Finance and exploring the field of Sports Management. He is the great-grandson of Raymond Francis Severson ('27).
Scholarship Winner John Reagan Stubb is graduating from Juanita High School in Kirkland, WA. He will be attending Washington State University in Pullman, WA in the fall. Reagan plans to study Mechanical Engineering with the hopes of working in Aeronautics or the Automotive field. He is the grandson of Eleanor Hirsch Stubb ('43).
Scholarship Winner Brandon Thomas Wiliams is graduating from Inglemoor High School in Kenmore, WA. He has enrolled for fall classes at Boise State University in Boise, ID. His focus will be on State and Local Government with the goal of becoming Governor of Washington State! Brandon is the grandson of James Berg ('53).
Scholarship Winner Juliana Wold will be graduating from Corbett High School in Corbett, OR. Juliana is accepted into the Honors College at OSU. She will be studying Education with plans to teach in the lower primary grades. Juliana is the granddaughter of Paul ('55) and Judy Williams Soderlund ('57).
Scholarship Winner Sarah Zitzelberger will be graduating from Silverton High School in Silverton, OR. Sarah is dual enrolled at Oregon State University and Linn Benton Community College. Her plan is to study Human Development and Family Sciences, with a goal to work in the Foster Care System. Sarah is the granddaughter of Charlotte Schiermeister Strunk ('65).
